Free Wi-Fi QR code generator

Share your network name and password with a QR code. Create and download a free PNG or SVG in your browser, without an account.

Help guests connect to Wi-Fi

Use a Wi-Fi QR code for a guest network at home, in a café or in a meeting room. A compatible phone can read the network details without the visitor typing them.

Choose WPA/WPA2, WEP or an open network to match the router. You can mark a hidden network. Phone support varies; this tool does not configure your router or provide an internet connection.

How to make a Wi-Fi QR code

  1. Enter the network name exactly as it appears in the router settings, including spaces and letter case.
  2. Select the matching security type, enter the password if needed, and mark a hidden network only if yours is hidden.
  3. Download PNG or SVG and scan it with a guest phone to check that it joins the correct network.

Print a Wi-Fi card or share the image

Download the 512 × 512 PNG for a message or document, or use SVG to resize a table sign without blurring. Preserve the light border and test the final printed card.

Anyone with the image can read the network password. Share a guest network when that is the network you intend visitors to use.

If a phone cannot join the network

Check the network name, password and security setting against the router. This tool accepts network names up to 32 UTF-8 bytes and WPA passwords of 8–63 characters. An open network has no password in the code.

The phone must be within range and support the encoded network type. If the password or network name changes, create a new QR code.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work on every phone?

No. Camera and Wi-Fi support differ by phone and operating system, especially for hidden networks and older security types. Test with the devices your guests use.

Is my Wi-Fi password uploaded?

No. Generation happens in the browser, and the password is included in the downloaded QR image, not sent to PixieQR.

Can I use an open network?

Yes. Select Open network. The QR code omits a password, even if the password field has text in it.

Will it work after I change the router password?

No. The image contains the old details. Generate and share a replacement code with the new password.
